Job Title: System Implementation Engineer

Powerit Solutions is an emerging leader in energy management controls solutions for industrial & commercial facilities seeking to manage their use of power to create savings and increase efficiency. The company’s products (Spara EMS & Konnekt Radios) and services provide a unique solution for these users to participate in peak demand control and demand response programs; solutions that are quickly becoming the most clean and cost effective methods of avoiding increases in electrical generation & instances of capacity crisis. Powerit Solutions is seeking to grow their team in order to manage and support the significant demand for their product and services.
Summary:
The responsibility of the System Implementation (SI) Engineer is to program and commission turnkey Spara Energy Management Systems (EMS) at commercial and industrial facilities. The SI Engineer is a multi-faceted position, including both project management and system commissioning. The SI Engineer will perform all necessary programming; utilizing Powerit Solution’s custom block programming and User Interface (UI) configuration. This position also requires coordination of all site efforts, complete system commissioning and on-site training for operators and users.
This job requires traveling to customer sites throughout the US, Canada and Mexico to perform the initial facility walk through and final commissioning. Necessary product and process training will be provided.
System Implementation Engineer Responsibilities:
- Create the system design along with developing electrical schematics and interconnect wiring diagrams
- Manage/perform Spara EMS programming & configuration
- Maintain project schedules and keep projects within budget
- Responsible for hardware testing and quality control
- Handle on-site startup and developing electrical installation specifications
- Troubleshoot electrical panels
- Evaluate electrical contractor bids and recommend contract awards
- Develop bill of materials as well as complete and accurate project documentation
- Maintain regular and accurate service reports and expense reports
- Conduct customer and/or channel partner user and support training
Knowledge Requirements:
- Ideal Candidate will have an Associates or Bachelors Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
- Technical degree or equivalent experience acceptable
- Experience in implementation/startup/commissioning of industrial automation control systems
- Experience with refrigeration controls is a significant advantage
- Experience with industrial automation such as PLCs, HMIs and VFDs
- Experience with Ladder Logic and/or Function Block programming
- Experience in industrial/commercial process and control applications (such as refrigeration, heating, cooling, machine control, food processing, metals, plastics, chemicals, HVAC, wood products, etc.)
- Candidate must have strong PC skills, PC networking knowledge in addition to technical writing skills
- Having worked as an electrician or electrical supervisor is an advantage
Additional Requirements:
- Candidate should maintain professional appearance and have the ability to travel 50-60%
- Ability to speak Swedish or Spanish is a plus
- Confident and professional, a good listener, an effective communicator and comfortable interfacing with contractors or senior level leadership
- Focused on meeting the customer’s needs and works well independently or within a team environment in a rapidly growing business
Work Environment:
- Frequent travel to customer sites is required. Customer sites are commercial and industrial facilities and could include cramped spaces, loud noises, chemicals and fumes, dust, heights and other work safety hazards.
- Above average amount of overtime or extended work hours may be required
Physical Effort:
- Normal physical mobility, which includes movement from place to place
- Above average agility, which includes ability to maneuver body while in place, the ability to climb stairs and ladders, ability to crawl into and out of confining spaces as needed
