Applications: Beverage

Winery and brewery operations involve many sensitive, energy-intensive processes.  Due to the delicate nature of the brewing, aging, and cooling processes many operations cannot shut down completely without serious loss. Traditionally it has been difficult to achieve energy bill savings in winery and brewery environments while at the same time managing the raw materials and various processes properly.  The Energy Director is a solution that can create savings while maintaining a balance with critical production and quality requirements.  With the Energy Director, designated loads can be temporarily adjusted to precisely manage overall use of power within peak demand limits. Customers can use the system to monitor its operations and carefully interrupt loads within certain demand intervals, thereby reducing any peaks. This short load interaction is managed without interruption of vital plant functions such as:

  • air handling
  • heating
  • refrigeration
  • waste water handling
  • lighting
  • recycling
  • grinding
  • material handling

The Energy Director controls critical processes that lead to a 10 – 40 percent reduction in peak demand and a savings of 5 – 10 percent of total energy bills.
