Kevin Klustner, CEO

A seasoned executive with a successful track record that ranges from Fortune 50 companies to venture-backed startups, Kevin Klustner has led companies into new markets, increased revenues dramatically, and helped companies take leading positions in their markets.

As the CEO of several startup companies, Klustner has built and managed relationships with customers, partners, and investors. In addition, he has led teams of up to 1,000 people, managed multibillion-dollar operations, and has significant international and corporate governance experience.

Leon Suh, CFO

Leon Suh is Powerit’s Chief Financial Officer. Leon leads finance, administration, IT, human resources and customer operations for Powerit. Leon brings over 18 years of financial, strategic planning, M&A and operational management experience. Previous to Powerit, Leon held financial leadership positions at DataChannel, Inc., AT&T Wireless and The Cobalt Group, Inc..

Leon began his career as an auditor with Ernst & Young LLP. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Washington and a masters degree in business administration from Seattle University and is an inactive certified public accountant in Washington state.

Patty Solberg, Director of Product Marketing

Patty Solberg is the Director of Product Marketing at Powerit Solutions. She focuses on market research and requirements gathering, as well as analyzing trends and needs in the SmartGrid and industrial automation markets.  She began working at Powerit in 2011. 

Patty comes to the CleanTech community from telecommunications products, where she has a background in product marketing and product management for multimillion dollar product lines, including DSL gateways (most recently with 2Wire) and fiber communications and test equipment. Patty has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Loyola Marymount University, in Los Angeles, CA.

Mark Stromberg, Director of Technical and Partner Services

Mark Stromberg is Powerit’s Director of Technical and Partner Services. Mark leads customer implementation, customer support and partner services for Powerit.  Mark brings over 15 years of deep experience in industrial automation and controls, including extensive experience in providing demand management solutions for the energy intensive industrial environment.  

Previously, Mark worked as a control systems engineer in a variety of industrial manufacturing environments, including food and beverage, foundries, steel mills, silicon wafer etching, plastic extrusion and vacuum coating processes.  Mark holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Washington in Seattle, WA.

Robert M Day

Rob Day is a Partner with Black Coral Capital, based in Boston.  He has been a cleantech private equity investor since 2004, and acts or has served as a Director, Observer and advisory board member to multiple companies in the energy tech and related sectors, currently including Digital Lumens (www.digitallumens.com), Next Step Living (www.nextsteplivinginc.com), Powerit Solutions (www.poweritsolutions.com), and Zeta Communities (www.zetacommunities.com).

Rob is the Chairman of the Cleantech Open – Northeast Region (northeast.cleantechopen.com).  Rob was previously a co-founder of the Renewable Energy Business Network, a non-profit organization which was acquired in 2009 by the Clean Economy Network, now part of the Advanced Energy Economy (www.aee.net).  Since 2005 he has also authored the website Cleantech Investing (www.cleantechvc.com), which currently appears on GreentechMedia.com.

Formerly a consultant with Bain & Company, Rob has worked with companies and evaluated private equity transactions in the energy/ utilities, telecom, IT, medical/pharmaceutical, and retail industries.  Earlier in his career, Rob was a member of the World Resources Institute's Sustainable Enterprise Program, where he co-authored the report The Next Bottom Line: Making Sustainable Development Tangible.

Rob received his MBA at the Kellogg Graduate School of Management (Northwestern University), and his BA at Swarthmore College.

Eric Emmons

Eric Emmons is an Investment Partner based in Boston, MA. He focuses on investments in energy, materials, and industrial technologies. His current and past board involvement includes Managesoft, Zolo Technologies, Powerit, Porogen, Bandgap Engineering, and Protonex (PTX.L). 

Before joining Siemens Venture Capital, Eric was a partner at the Massachusetts Green Energy Fund, where he led many of its investments in power generation, energy efficiency, and new materials. Eric was on the founding team of Enmed, Inc., which developed clinical trial management software for the biopharmaceutical and medical device industries, and managed strategic planning for EPIX Medical, Inc., (Nasdaq: EPIX) a public biotechnology firm in Cambridge, MA. Eric holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor’s degree from Princeton University.

Bernardo Llovera

Bernardo is the Managing Partner of Expansion Capital Partners, a clean technology investment firm he joined in 2003.  Before joining Expansion Capital, Bernardo was a Senior Vice President at GE Equity, the private equity arm of the General Electric Company for over six years. Bernardo managed GE Equity’s Enterprise Solutions Group and co-managed the Technology & Communications Group. 

Prior to joining GE Equity, Bernardo was a Senior Manager with Sara Lee Corporation in Chicago where he focused on strategic planning and M&A. Before business school, Bernardo worked in private equity in London at Security Pacific Hoare Govett Equity Ventures and Schroder Ventures, where he was involved in leveraged buyout transactions across a wide variety of industry sectors. Bernardo currently sits on the boards of Biorem [TSX: BRM.V], Powerit Holdings and Tiger Optics. Bernardo holds a BA in Engineering Sciences from Dartmouth College, a Diploma in Accounting & Finance from the London School of Economics and an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Business Administration, at Northwestern University.

Peter Mills

Peter is the co-founder of @Ventures, which was formed in 1995. Now investing the firm's 5th fund, Peter operates out of Menlo Park, CA.

Peter has played a key role in a number of successful investments for @Ventures, including GeoCities (Nasdaq: GCTY then acquired by Yahoo), Vicinity (Nasdaq: VCNT then acquired by Microsoft), and Avamar Technologies (acquired by EMC). He currently holds board or observer seats with Powerit Solutions, 212 Resources,  Cobalt Biofuels. and Propel Biofuels.

Previously, Peter had extensive operating and manufacturing experience across a wide spectrum of industries.  This included: the semiconductor industry as CEO of the United States Display Consortium (USDC) and as Chief Administrative Officer of SEMATECH, the industry-led consortium focused on semiconductor manufacturing; software as co-founder and COO of Softrend and Senior Vice President of BPI after the merger of Softrend and BPI Systems; hardware manufacturing at Digital Equipment and manufacturing at Ford Motor Company. 

Peter received his BS in Communications from Ithaca College and an MBA in Marketing from the Graduate School of Business at Columbia University
