Job Title:  Senior Technical Writer

Powerit Solutions is looking for a Senior Technical Writer. We are a successful Seattle-based growth driven Cleantech company that plugs energy-intensive businesses into the smart grid. Powerit’s Spara technology enables users to automatically increase energy efficiency, cut peak-rate usage, participate in demand response programs, and respond to dynamic pricing advantageously—without compromising quality, production, or comfort.

Summary: 

This position will be responsible for all of the company’s externally facing technical documentation. This includes developing and testing complex user scenarios that show how to use the product. The candidate will also define the processes and technologies necessary to efficiently accomplish the goals. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience documenting hardware, software and Web-based products.

Senior Technical Writer activities:

• Define and document customer documentation processes and tools
• Work with product management, product marketing and other internal customers to implement documentation plan
• Use advanced tools to create easily maintained product documentation

Knowledge Requirements:

• Ideal Candidate will have a Bachelors Degree in Technical Communications, Journalism or Engineering (Technical degree or equivalent experience may be acceptable)
• Experience with embedded, desktop and cloud based products
• Proficiency in Windows and Linux environments
• Understanding of embedded hardware systems, including analog and digital I/O
• 5+ years work related experience

Work Environment:

• Typical office environment
• Occasional domestic and international travel
